Why I Do Not Do Diet Plans…

Yesterday, I popped a few stories on my social media.

I spoke about how giving people set nutrition plans is not something that I do.

I know you would probably think that this is the “norm” for a nutritionist.

But it certainly is not for me.

And there is a good reason for it.

Not only that…

But the only people who should be getting prescriptive with diet plans are medically trained dieticians.

Who work with people suffering from medical conditions.

And even though I am insured to give diet plans within my work due to my qualification, I choose not to.

The reason that I choose not to is that they can cause potential issues.

They can potentially cause huge restriction.

Which can then potentially lead to disordered eating patterns.

Which can then potentially lead to a full-on eating disorder.

And that is a place that I refuse to take people.

As a health and weight loss nutritionist.

I take my job very seriously.

I understand the risks that can occur when working with people who have a potentially bad relationship with food.

This is the very reason that I will NOT give set diet plans to people.

This is also the reason why I choose to actually coach my clients through a weight loss journey.

Instead of just taking their money and throwing them on some useless restrictive diet plan that I have just Googled from the internet.

That takes no consideration into where they are currently at.

No consideration into their current mindset.

And no consideration into their current relationship with food.

Guiding somebody along a weight loss journey is serious stuff.

And it is something that should be treated with the greatest care and the greatest respect.

I pride myself and my service on leaving people in a far better place than where I found them.

Anything less is unacceptable.

Restrictive and set diet plans for the general public when it comes to weight loss?

Get in the bin… 🗑
