What Does Success Mean To You?

What does success mean to you?

Success can mean many things to many people.

But to me, it used to mean drilling my body down to the lowest weight possible.

It meant trying to have the lowest amount of body fat that I could possibly have.

The problem was though, that pushing my body down to such low body fat levels was unsustainable.

And it certainly wasn’t healthy.

So many people look at my old boxing photos and think that I was in great shape.

I wasn’t.

I was probably at my unhealthiest and my weakest when I was “on weight”.

Being a natural 11+ stone man and trying to get myself down to 9st 4lb was crucifying.

Especially when I had minimal body fat to lose, to begin with.

Restrictive diet plans.

Scared of certain foods.

Jumping on the scales every two minutes.

I was doing it all.

Sound familiar?

That is because this is everyday life for many people who are trying to lose weight.

The fact that my sport was boxing is irrelevant.

Anybody who is on a weight loss journey experiences the above issues of restriction.

And it took me many years to realise that I was doing it wrong and that my relationship with food was poor.

This is one of the reasons that my passion for health and weight loss nutrition is now so strong.

Showing people who are looking to lose weight that they do not have to restrict themselves.

Showing them they do not have to become unhealthy in their body or mind to lose weight.

And that they can still look and feel great whilst having a beer or a glass of wine.

That is what I enjoy teaching them.

Living a life where they can have a positive relationship with food and where they can feel happy and confident within their own skin.

That is real success to me 🙂
