The Problem With The Weight Loss Industry

One of the biggest issues that the weight loss industry has created for us.

Is the notion that fat loss is simple, easy, and straightforward.

You will find a million things claiming to speed up your weight loss.

Some companies apparently have a potion that will speed up the process.

Some people will sell you a juice that is supposedly going to speed up the process.

And some people out there will give you a shred plan that they claim can magically fix all your problems in 4 weeks.

But why don’t we just get real here for a minute?

Let’s be honest with ourselves.

Weight loss isn’t simple.

It isn’t easy.

And it sure as hell Isn’t straightforward.

Do not get me wrong.

There is a time and a place for aggressive diet phases which can shift some weight quickly.

But you are not always going to find people in a position who are ready for that mentally.

We have to make sure that people who are seeking weight loss are looked after.

And that they have their expectations managed correctly.

Yes, you absolutely can lose 10kg of fat.

I have done it with numerous clients.

But it can take time.

It is a process that needs to be managed and coached correctly.

Do you know how many calories 10kg of fat actually is?

You certainly are not dropping that in a matter of days like some people out there like to claim.

Yes, you will lose some quick “weight” through water and glycogen depletion.

But once you eat and drink again?

You end up in a world of stress and misery when you see the scales go back up.

Not realising that this is a perfectly normal process and that we are concentrating on the wrong metrics.

We have just been led to believe that the scales are the gold standard of weight loss measurement.

And that if we are not losing kilos a week then it is a “failure”.

This is a mindset that we need to change.

We need to educate people correctly.

And we need to be looking at and working on the correct foundations of weight loss first.

Without all the smoke, mirrors, and complete rubbish mindset that this industry largely pedals.
