Pressing The “Reset” Button”

I talk a lot to my weight loss clients about activity levels.

And I am sure that many people would believe that I talk about it so much because of the calorie-burning benefits to it.

But This is absolutely not the case.

While activity will burn calories to some degree.

I do not like my clients to get hung up on using exercise to burn calories.

Or trying to “outwork” a “bad” diet.

For me, that just creates totally the wrong mindset about exercise and weight loss.

I am a firm believer that exercise should be enjoyed.

Should be used to build a stronger body.

And should be used to make you feel good.

Not to “punish” yourself to burn calories with.

The main reason that I like my clients to increase their activity levels is purely for their mindset.

To help with their focus.

And to just give them some “time out” from the busy and demanding day.

It just helps them to press the “reset” button.

Which can be very much needed in the current day and age that we live in.

So when I talk to my clients about activity levels.

I am not talking about going to the gym.

For a run.

Or to do a crazy HIIT circuit.

I am talking about going for a steady walk.

Taking the dog out.

Or just getting out into the open with a podcast for ten minutes of their day.

My service here is not just about numbers.

And it is not just about “burning calories”.

It is about getting people into a place where they can build the bigger picture of a health and fat loss journey.

And for the majority of people.

That starts with mindset 🙂
