Is Eating “Little And Often” Better For Weight Loss?

Is eating “little and often” better for weight loss?

Another good question that I received the other day to my question box.

And I can safely say that the majority of you reading this have probably heard this said before.

I know that a lot of my clients have.

And I know that I certainly have.

I used to believe it too!

I cannot tell you the number of times that I have done my meal prep in the past.

And made six small meals for the day of chicken and broccoli thinking that it was going to incinerate my fat levels.

So I cannot blame people today looking for weight loss who still believe and practice this method.

I just thank god that I eventually went down a very high level of learning and education before I turned into a complete pseudoscientific coach!

Because I have told my clients a few times in my early days as a coach to “eat little and often” to help with their fat loss.

Based on nothing else than what I had read in a fitness magazine.

Or heard on the gym floor!

Anyway.

I digress.

As usual 😉

So, “eating little and often”

Does it make a difference when it comes to fat loss?

No.

It absolutely does not make a shred of difference.

The evidence shows that given an equal amount of daily calories.

The number of meals makes no difference in fat loss whatsoever.

It is true that digestion does indeed raise your metabolism.

But only slightly.

Nothing to write home about.

And the frequency of your meals has less effect on your fat loss than the total number of calories that you consume during the day.

So, in short, eating little and often does not increase fat loss.

I hope that clears a few things up for you.

But as ever.

If you have any questions.

Just ask 🙂
