Instagram Versus Reality…

Put your hands up if you have ever been on Instagram and come off ten minutes later feeling absolutely rubbish about yourself after seeing all of the “toned” and “ripped” male and female “models” on there?

That you see seemingly “living their best life”?

You know the ones.

The ones who are sprawled all over a rented car with their latest detox tea in hand.

And the ones that are stood there gazing mysteriously into the distance with no top on and holding their latest BCAA supplement.

The fakeness of it is pretty nauseating.

And unfortunately, it is something that people on a weight loss journey see every day.

Which they then start comparing themselves to.

When, in reality, it just takes them further away from what they actually really need and want.

When you are working with weight loss clients, it is super important that not only do you build them a positive relationship with food.

But that you also build them a positive mindset when it comes to how they view themselves and their bodies.

Building up their self-esteem and self-worth is something that I take very seriously.

And something that is not helped by them consistently viewing, and comparing themselves to the highlight reel of Instagram.

When in truth, half of these so-called “models” are on the borderline of an eating disorder.

And live a life that is as miserable as syn trying to stay in shape with a six-pack all year round.

Not to mention that they are probably skint.

I mean, why else would you promote some random detox tea that doesn’t even work?

It certainly isn’t because they are hot on the ethical approach now is it?

The key to any sustainable, healthy, and manageable weight loss journey is to implement what works for you whilst running your own race in life.

Trying to follow your favourite celebrity crash diet plan just isn’t going to cut it.

And will only leave you frustrated, down, and confused.

Before the whole vicious dieting circle starts again.

Don’t let that be you.

You’re worth more than that.

And it just isn’t real life.

No matter what they tell you 🙂
