How many “Sins” in a Mars bar?

I posted an “Ask me anything” on my Instagram story a while back.

And it got me thinking of one of the questions that was asked.

One question that I had was “How many sins in a Mars bar?”

Now, I have to admit.

This was one of my clients “trolling” me.

But it really did raise a fantastic point.

Not about how many “Sins” are actually in a Mars bar.

But the mindset that certain people do have around some foods.

I always say to my clients that they should never demonise any foods.

It is not a healthy way to approach nutrition.

And it certainly goes some way to creating a bad relationship with it.

There are obviously more optimal choices to make when it comes to nutrition than a bar of chocolate.

But we also need to be realistic about our approach to nutrition too.

The facts are that the world is not going to end just because we have consumed a bar of chocolate.

It is also not going to end just because you have indulged a little bit too much in your favourite food one evening.

The key to weight loss nutrition is knowing how to structure your food intake.

So that we can elicit weight loss.

But also so that we can actually enjoy consuming foods that we like to eat and drink along the way.

We should be able to have the odd glass of wine at a weekend if we want one.

Without that dreaded feeling of guilt.

Because believe it or not.

You do not have to eat chicken and broccoli every day to lose weight.

That is a complete myth.

And one that needs dispelling.

You can absolutely enjoy your life and your food.

Without cutting out everything that you enjoy.

And without the restriction that goes with it.

Whatever the “FitFam” would have you believe… 👀

Oh, and the companies calling certain foods “Sins”?

Get in the bin 🙄 🗑
