Fruit… Will It Make You Fat?

Right then.

First of all.

For all of the social media Karens and Colins out there.

Yes, if you eat fruit in a calorie surplus.

You will gain weight.

But clearly, my point with today’s post is to dispel the myth that fruit should be avoided when it comes to fat loss.

Apparently due to its sugar content.

And if I am honest.

I find it really sad that it has now got to a point in the industry where I even have to write about stupid things like this.

This is largely down to the amount of “cults” that we seem to have nowadays in nutrition.

And this current cult that I am talking about today is the…

“Sugar is the devil” camp.

There are quite literally, people out there giving advice in which they claim that eating fruit is bad for you as it will “make you fat”.

It borders on the ridiculous.

And I just wish that people would not nail their colours to one particular mast when it comes to nutrition.

Because it just makes life super confusing for people who are trying to lose weight and improve their health.

If you are somebody who has been told that fruit should be avoided when it comes to weight loss.

Let me put your mind at ease.

It absolutely should not be avoided.

And where possible.

It absolutely should be included daily in your nutrition.

Due to the important micronutrients that are in there which help the body to function optimally.

So, as “clever” or as “different” as it may make some coaches seem when they claim this.

The very high likelihood is that they have zero clues about nutrition.

And I would not let them feed my dog.

If I had a dog that is.

But you catch my drift 😬👍🏻
