Eating “Clean”

Eating “Clean”

A subject that was raised within my private member’s area last week.

And a subject or term that I thought would be good to give out some more information on.

We have all heard the term “clean” eating.

Especially used by people who are on a health or weight loss kick.

But what does eating “clean” actually mean?

It certainly caused a good debate with my members.

Firstly, let me put my ten pence worth in.

I for one, hate the term “clean” eating.

Because I believe that it creates the wrong mindset around food.

Not only that.

But nobody can agree what it actually means anyway!

For some people, it can mean removing certain foods from the diet.

And for others, it can mean removing something completely different.

Whichever way we look at it.

There is some form of exclusion around food.

Which I do not like.

And that I do not think helps anybody in the long run with their relationship with food.

Because where do we draw the line?

Is “clean” eating organic, raw, pesticide-free?

Or something completely different?

The honest answer is.

Nobody knows, and certainly, nobody can agree!

The truth is that people struggle to define “clean” eating.

So my advice to my clients.

And to anybody reading this blog looking to lose weight or improve their health is this.

Consume a diet that is abundant in quality proteins, fruits, and veg.

Try to stick to whole foods where possible.

But small amounts of processed foods now and again are not going to stunt your health and weight loss journey.

So be careful trying to lead a life eating “clean” as it may not only drive you insane.

It may well confuse the life out of you too.

As well as causing you a potentially poorer relationship with food.
