Do Not Run Before You Can Walk… Literally!

Have you heard the phrase “Do not run before you can walk”?

It is a phrase that is very true.

Even more so when it comes to health and weight loss.

With yet another national lockdown upon us.

And the new strain of COVID-19 taking hold.

More now than ever.

People are looking for ways to improve their health.

And to get their weight to optimal levels.

Which is absolutely amazing.

The one thing that I do see though, is people who are new to trying to lose weight, throwing themselves right in at the deep end, to begin with.

I work specifically in health and weight loss.

And seeing people going from zero.

To try to complete HIIT workouts amongst other high-intensity activities.

Is absolutely admirable, but maybe just slightly misguided.

When you first begin a health and weight loss journey.

The chances are that you are probably not in a position to be throwing yourself onto the floor doing burpees.

Or going out and running 5 miles a day.

Begining a health and weight loss journey with something as basic as hitting a daily step count.

May seem insufficient for many.

But believe me, it works.

I have worked with many, many, weight loss clients.

And I have got big results with them.

All of which came from making sure that they could walk before they tried to run.

Quite literally.

And on many other levels too.

Especially their nutrition.

There is far more to health and weight loss than just pounding your body into the floor.
