“Detox” Diets…

OK, so I may be a little late to the party here.

“Detox” diets normally start doing the rounds at the beginning of January.

And it is now pretty much February.

But work with me here.

I am a busy guy.

And to be fair.

I only got this question sent over to me on my social media earlier this week.

And I thought that it would be a good one to dig into.

So, “detox” diets.

Are they worth it?

And are they any good?

In a word.

No.

But let me put some context behind that so that I can back up what I say.

And so that I can help people to understand why “detox” diets are a massive waste of money.

First of all, your liver, kidneys, and other organs are continuously working to remove harmful substances and excrete waste products from the body.

And this just cannot be beaten.

Secondly, most of these “detox” diets limit your food intake (normally to juices) which is not ideal.

The problem here is that by doing that, you can potentially be reducing the nutrients needed for your body to be performing the detoxification process.

Not a great idea if you are indeed looking to “detox”!

If you are looking to help with the body’s natural detoxification process.

Then the best thing for you to do is to pack it with a good amount of protein, plenty of leafy greens, and as many vitamins and minerals as you can get from actual food.

There is just no better way to do it.

Plus, getting your nutrients from real food will certainly be tastier than what any “detox” plan wants you to get them from.

That is for sure!

So, in a nutshell.

Save your money when it comes to “detox” plans.

They are absolutely not worth it and they are just a shiny sales tactic from people looking to take your hard-earned money 🙂
