Arm Chair Critics…

Just imagine calling out an 18-year-old.

Who has just played on one of the biggest stages in world tennis.

Just because they had to retire from a game.

Due to medical reasons.

Where they were struggling to breathe.

So what if that person was a little overwhelmed by the experience?

So what if that person found it all a little bit too overwhelming after what must have been a crazy week?

She is just EIGHTEEN YEARS OLD!

I was still getting hammered at a weekend and being an emotional wreck when the Rams lost when I was 18!

So how on earth critics can now jump on the bandwagon and claim that this youngster does not have the mental toughness to win a major title in the future is far beyond me.

Because here is the amazing thing about life.

The thing that makes us all special is that we can all grow.

We can all learn.

And we can all become better versions of ourselves in the future.

That is open to every single person that is breathing.

No exceptions.

But like anything in life.

It takes time.

It takes nurturing.

And it takes a solid process of guidance.

So to write off this talented youngster at the tender age of just 18 completely baffles me.

And this goes for anything in life.

Whether that be an elite sport.

A fat loss journey.

Or just life in general.

It absolutely is not where you start that you should be judged on.

It is absolutely about where you finish.

Because you have to understand that things in life will arise that will set you back.

But that does not mean that it is the end.

And that you should be completely written off as a result.

So before getting stuck into a young lady who has achieved far more inside a few days than most of these critics will ever achieve in their entire lifetimes.

Maybe they should be looking at the potential growth of this person and their amazing potential.

And maybe trying to throw them some encouragement and compassion.

Instead of trying to tear them down.

Like a hound that senses blood.

What a world we live in eh?
